Having gone to the Brit Floyd show at the Washington Pavilion the other night, I must say, it was as impressive a tribute band as I've ever seen. Sitting in the third row, I was struck by how good the mix was from the first notes. The light show was impressive, with the famous circular projection screen was there as well. And yes, there was a giant, inflatable pig with glowing eyes. Yet as great a recreation as the stage was, I was most impressed by the guitar tones. David Gilmour's guitar tone is one of rock and roll's finest, and distinguished, and it was obvious that both guitarists put plenty of time and effort into capturing it perfectly. There was no Waters, no Gilmour... no Syd. But it was a fantastic substitute, and the musicians, and the performance were spot on. A night full of Pink Floyd music, complete with awesome background singers. How could you go wrong?
