Those of us who own dogs can usually tell what our dog wants because we spend so much time with them. They're hungry, need to go out, want to play, or don't feel good, but dogs communicate in many different ways and we humans may miss the subtle signs. Dogs indicate their feelings through their eyes, ears, tails, stance, and more. Here's an interesting article from Susan Wright on canine communication.
