James Taylor will headline a special event this Memorial Day weekend that will bring together the people of Greenwich, Connecticut, to celebrate their community. The third annual Greenwich Town Party is scheduled to take place on May 25 at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park, and will feature a variety of musical performances, a family festival and food concessions.
Taylor is joined on the entertainment lineup by Blues Traveler , Michael Franti & Spearhead , the Harlem Gospel Choir and other acts. Tickets for the event can only be purchased by Greenwich residents and business owners, as well as people who work in the town. Non-residents are welcome to attend as guests.
Among the stars who have performed at the previous Greenwich Town Party events are Paul Simon , The Temptations , Buddy Guy , Little Feat , The Wailers and Tedeschi Trucks Band .
For Taylor, his Greenwich performance is one of only three concert appearances he has lined up for 2013. The folk-rock great also will be playing a pair of shows in Hawaii next week, on April 12 in Kahului and on April 13 in Honolulu.
