SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO AM) - A Sioux Falls man is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute to minors after a traffic stop Saturday afternoon at West 9th Street and South Duluth Avenue.
Officer Sam Clemens says police seized almost 50 grams of marijuana, some in 2 gram bundles, and arrested 19-year-old Son Hoang Chau.
Clemens says most of the pot allegedly belonged to Chau but 14 grams allegedly belonged to one of two, 15-year-old girls riding with Chau. The arresting officer noticed that the girl in the front seat looked like a juvenile who wasn't wearing her seat belt. When he approached the car he smelled marijuana and when Chau got out the officer saw a bag of pot in the door.
Clemens says Chau is also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The girls were charged with possession of marijuana and turned over to their parents.
