Paul McCartney & Wings ' chart-topping 1976 concert album Wings over America is scheduled to be reissued in a variety of formats and configurations on May 27 .  The collection, which originally was released as a three-LP set, captured performances from the one and only North American tour by ex- Beatles star's 1970s group.

One version of the revamped Wings over America will be a super-deluxe box set containing four discs and four books.  The package will boast a remastered, two-CD version of the original album; a bonus CD featuring a Wings concert taped at San Francisco's Cow Palace; and a DVD containing the 75-minute Wings over the World TV special and a photo gallery.

As for the books, they include a 110-page tour book with details about the 1975-76 trek, photos, new interviews and liner notes by veteran rock journalist David Fricke .  There will also be a volume boasting a tour itinerary, set lists and various pieces of replicated memorabilia.  Another book will collect photographs snapped by the late Linda McCartney during the trek.  Finally, another book compiles sketches and drawings that artist Humphrey Ocean created of the band members on the outing.

In related news, Rockshow , the 1976 concert film shot during the 1975-76 McCartney & Wings tour, will be released on DVD and Blu-ray for the first time on June 10.  While the original edition of the movie offered an edited version of the concert, which took place at Seattle's Kingdome, the video discs will feature the band's full performance.  In advance of Rockshow 's retail arrival, the movie will be given a one-night-only screening on May 15 at more than 500 theaters around the world.  The theatrical version of Rockshow will include a video introduction from McCartney himself.  In addition, Sir Paul will be on hand to celebrate the cinematic premiere of the flick at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in London on May 15.  Visit RockshowOnScreen.com to find out more about the Rockshow screenings.

Lastly, McCartney has added yet another U.S. concert to his Out There World Tour itinerary.  He'll play a July 19 show at Safeco Field in Seattle.  Tickets for the event go on sale to the general public on Friday, April 12, at 10 a.m. PT.
