SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The City is changing strategy for clearing streets to using salt and letting mother nature clear roads.
Director of Public Works Mark Cotter says plowing is creating large windrows and the public says that's not working.
Cotter says those streets will be slushy for a few days. But he says at least that would not create large windrows and hopefully keep traffic moving a little bit better. He says the city may adjust again but salt will be the strategy for now.
Cotter says clearing trees and branches from roads is a top priority for public safety. He says trees and limbs are being placed on the boulevards between the sidewalk and curb.
