SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Xcel Energy has restored power to over 76,000 customers in Sioux Falls and surrounding communities.
Xcel spokeman Jim Wilcox says crews have set 135 power poles in the last two days and they expect to set another 50 today.
Wilcox says crews continue working to restore service to an estimated 14,000 customers. He says that comes down to about 1,760 job tickets that linemen need to go out on. He says just over a thousand single services are still down. Xcel has 427 people in the field today.
Wilcox says that if the storm damaged the customers mast, the pipe housing that connects service to a home's meter, the customer must contact an electrician for repairs before service can be restored.
