Crossfire Hurricane , the 2012 documentary celebrating The Rolling Stones ' 50th anniversary, will be released on DVD and Blu-ray disc on May 21 .  The film charts the history of the band from its formation in the early 1960s through the arrival of guitarist Ronnie Wood in the mid '70s.

The movie, directed by Brett Morgen , is highlighted by plenty of rare and previously unreleased archival footage, including concert performances and candid conversations with the group.  Crossfire Hurricane also features extensive new interviews with the entire current Stones lineup, as well as with former band members Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor .

The DVD and Blu-ray releases contain a number of bonus features, including unreleased scenes of the band performing in Germany in 1965 and at the NME Poll Winners Concert in 1964 and 1965, footage from a 1964 appearance on The Arthur Haynes Show , an interview with Morgen, and a theatrical trailer.

Crossfire Hurricane got its theatrical premiere this past October 18 in London at a red carpet event attended by all of The Rolling Stones.  The band members also were hand for a similar premiere gala held in New York City on November 13, two days before the movie's U.S. television debut on HBO.

The Crossfire Hurricane DVD is priced at $14.98, while the Blu-ray lists at $19.98.  The film also will be available for purchase as a digital download.

In other Stones news, the band has added a June 9 concert at the Bell Centre in Montreal to the upcoming North American leg of their 50 and Counting tour.  Tickets will go on sale to the general public this Saturday at noon ET  and can be purchased at RollingStones.com/Tickets .
