Billy Gibbons ' pre- ZZ Top band The Moving Sidewalks have added a second performance to their 2013 reunion plans. The group will headline the final night of the sixth annual Austin Psych Fest , taking place April 26-28 at the Carson Creek Ranch in Austin, Texas.
The three-day festival's lineup also includes Roky Erickson of the legendary Texas psychedelic band 13th Floor Elevators , Brazil's Os Mutantes , The Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and dozens of other acts.
As previously reported, The Moving Sidewalks' original lineup -- Gibbons, drummer Dan Mitchell , bassist Don Summers and keyboardist Tom Moore -- will play together for the first time in 44 years on March 30 at New York City's B.B. King Blues Club & Grill . The show will be part of the ongoing Cavestomp garage-rock concert series.
Founded in Houston in 1967, The Moving Sidewalks went on to perform on concert bills with such famous artists as Jimi Hendrix , The Doors , Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels , The Jeff Beck Group with Rod Stewart , Steppenwolf and Stevie Wonder . Following the release of its one and only album, 1968's Flash , the group disbanded in 1969 after Summers and Moore were drafted.
