Eric Clapton 's upcoming studio effort, Old Sock , won't hit stores until March 12, but fans can hear a little preview of the album now. "Gotta Get Over," the lead single from the 12-track collection, was released to radio recently and is streaming now online in its entirety at the official SoundCloud page of the guitar legend's new Bushbranch imprint.
The track is a driving blues-rock number powered by Clapton's gritty voice and tasteful riffs, and complemented by gospel-flavored backing vocals from Chaka Khan . Two versions of "Gotta Get Over" can be heard online -- the album version and an abridged radio edit.
The tune is one of two new original songs featured on Old Sock , which is made mostly of covers of some of Clapton's all-time favorite songs. Besides Khan, other guest artists joining Slowhand on the album include Paul McCartney , Steve Winwood and Clapton's frequent songwriting collaborator J.J. Cale .
