The Eagles are planning to hit the road later this year for a tour celebrating their 40th anniversary and in conjunction with their new documentary, History of the Eagles .  Before that trek, singer Don Henley has a single solo date lined up that will take place this Friday at the Revel Ovation Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

In the course of promoting the show, Henley revealed to the Atlantic City Insiders website some details about the solo album he's been working on for the last three years.  He says the project finally will be released in May, noting, "It's a bit of a departure for me, so it'll be interesting to see how it's received."  The record reportedly will include tunes that feature a country flavor.

Back on the subject of the Eagles, Henley shared some information about the group's upcoming trek.  There's been some speculation in the media about whether the band would invite any of its former members to participate in the anniversary outing.  Reports Henley, "[Founding singer/guitarist] Bernie Leadon is the only ex-member we're considering at the moment."

He also notes that the band hasn't been discussing recording a new album, adding, "We'll see how the tour goes."

The Eagles currently have one confirmed show on their schedule, a March 23 performance at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.  The group's History of the Eagles tour is expected to begin sometime in the summer.
