The B-52's postponed a performance Thursday night at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York, and postponed or canceled all shows set for this weekend after singer Cindy Wilson became ill.
A statement posted on the band's website reads, "We are so sorry to announce that we are unable to perform at tonight and this weekend's shows due to Cindy Wilson having fallen ill. Cindy's illness is not life threatening but her doctor has ordered her to take immediate bedrest."
Thursday's Port Chester appearance and a show in Glenside, PA., originally scheduled for June 7, will be rescheduled. The group says its appearance this Saturday at a festival in Fairfax, Virginia, has been canceled.
The band's statement adds, "We all send Cindy our love and best wishes for a speedy recovery. We sincerely regret any disappointment this has caused our fans and hope to be able to make it up to you soon! Xo."
Wilson, 56, is a founding B-52's member along with Kate Pierson , Fred Schneider , Keith Strickland and Pierson's late brother, Ricky Wilson .
