David Crosby apparently is close to finishing his long-in-the-works new solo album.  The folk-rock great revealed some details about the status of the project in a recent series of messages he posted over the last couple of weeks on his Twitter account .

The singer/songwriter reports that he's recorded about 11 "real songs" for the album, adding that his friends have told him that the material is strong.

"I think that might be it…we might have it," he declares.  "I wish I could tell how it feels…a year and [a] half, maybe two…doing it on [g]rocery money and the favors of friends and family."

Crosby also shared some information about a few of the specific tracks that will appear on the record.  One tune is titled "Set That Baggage Down," and he also worked on a "truly excellent song" that his son and longtime collaborator James Raymond wrote called "What's Broken."  David also mentions a tune named "Find a Name" that he co-wrote with Raymond and Marcus Eaton and says is mostly in 5/4 time.

The two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee now is in Europe, where Crosby, Stills & Nash are set to launch a new tour leg Thursday night in Dresden, Germany.  Crosby says he plans to mix his as-yet-untitled album solo album when he's back in the U.S. in August.
