Blues and R&B Legend Bobby "Blue" Bland Dead at 83

Blues and R&B legend and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Bobby "Blue" Bland has died, according to WMC-TV in Memphis. He was 83.

Bland moved from Rosemark, Tennessee, to nearby Memphis as a teenager. He went on to record several hits in the 1950s and 1960s, including “Farther On Up the Road,” “I’ll Take Care of You,” “I Pity the Fool,” “That’s the Way Love Is” and “Turn on Your Love Light.”

Bland was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992. He received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award five years after that.
