One of the founding members of The Miracles , Bobby Rogers , has died at the age of 73. According to the Los Angeles Times , the Detroit native passed away early Sunday morning after a long illness.

Rogers worked successfully with Smokey Robinson and co-founded The Miracles with him in 1955. Together, the two also penned The Temptations ’ first hit single, “The Way You Do the Things You Do.”

The Miracles, which also included Bobby’s cousin Claudette Rogers as well as Pete Moore and Ronnie White , were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. Bobby Rogers was reportedly too sick to attend the event.

Rogers was reputed to be the group's best dancer, and was responsible for much of the early choreography for The Miracles' stage act.
