It's no secret that Joni Mitchell 's words have influenced legions of fellow artists, as far-ranging as Led Zeppelin and Madonna -- so a new book focusing on the poetic aspects of the singer's lyrics seems almost overdue. Gathered Light: The Poetry of Joni Mitchell's Songs features more than 50 in-depth explorations of Mitchell's lyrics, examined by a host of notable fans including David Geffen and author Wally Lamb . The book is endorsed by Mitchell and features selections of her lyrics specially edited by the artist herself.
