SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls Transit and Paratransit are losing $2.5 million dollars in federal money.
A City Council Transit Task Force is holding its first meeting Wednesday at Carnegie Town Hall.
City Councilwoman Michelle Erpenbach says rates will have to go up. She says If transit and paratrnsit are going to function the way they need to function, everyone's going to need a share in it. She says riders are going to have provide more on transit and paratransit. But she says rate increases aren't the only solution to the loss of federal money.
The task force will meet over the next six months to develop a long-term strategy.
The task force is chaired by Councilors Greg Jamison and Rex Rolfing.
