Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) A former student at South Dakota State University is charged with intentially exposing two current students to the AIDS-causing HIV virus.

Court papers in Brookings County say that in one of the cases, 19-year-old Demetrius Colaites, had sex with the student but did not tell him he was HIV positive. The court papers In the other case indicate that the student was apparently so drunk, he would not have known one way or the other.

This HIV exposure law has been on the books in South Dakota since 2000. There have been only a handful of cases since then.
