No charges in now fatal car-pedestrian accident

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A Sioux Falls man injured in a car-pedestrian accident about two weeks ago at 57th Street and Western Avenue died yesterday.

Lieutenant Jerry Miller says 38-year-old David Stitt was crossing 57th Street when he was hit by a car driven by 33-year-old Mary Ash of Sioux Falls.

Miller says Stitt was walking quickly across 57th Street at the time of the accident.  He says Stitt was also walking against the light, he had a red trafic signal.  Miller says he ran out into the path of the 2011 Hyundai and was struck.

Miller says the investigation determined that speed, alcohol and mechanical condition were not factors.

No charges will be filed and the investigation is complete.
