A drum kit featuring various drums that Ringo Starr used when The Beatles played their historic Shea Stadium concerts in 1965 and 1966 currently is on display for a limited time at the Bloomingdale's flagship store on 59th St. in New York City.  The kit includes the bass drum Starr played at his old band's August 15, 1965, show at the now-demolished ballpark, as well as the floor and rack toms he used at the August 23, 1966, concert at the stadium.

The drums are being displayed in conjunction with the new line of Beatles-themed clothing and accessories Bloomingdale's is selling that were created as part of a new campaign celebrating the band's 50th anniversary and British culture in general.  The kit can be viewed on the store's Men's Department, located on the main floor at the Third Avenue entrance.  In early 2014, the "Shea Stadium Kit" -- as the drum kit is known -- will be exhibited at Bloomingdale's Century City location in Los Angeles.

"Bloomingdale’s is honored to be able to exhibit the iconic Shea Stadium Kit," says executive vice president David Fisher .  "Fashion is so often influenced by music, and giving access to such an iconic piece of entertainment history authenticates our British style focus and brings excitement to our exclusive Beatles merchandise."

Bloomingdale's has a number of other Fab Four-themed events and promotions planned to coincide with its 50th anniversary Beatles festivities.  Select stores will feature pop-up shops that will sell Beatles-related merchandise, including a number of books focusing on the rock legends chosen by Beatles historian Mark Lewisohn .  Lewisohn also will take part in special invite-only roundtable events about the band co-sponsored by Bloomingdale's and Esquire magazine that also will feature a variety other guest speakers.

In addition, a number of Bloomingdale's locations will display collections of a rare Beatles photos, and will sell limited-edition prints of the images.
