Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - Preliminary reports from the National Weather Service indicated at least six tornadoes touched down in Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota Friday night.
A tornado touched down near Wayne, Nebraska causing injuries and property damage.
Another caused damage in Jefferson, SD and shut down I-90 when semi-trucks were blown over.
Tornado damage was reported in Moville, IA. Early reports indicate major damage to the town, along with damage in Pierson and downed power poles in Quimby.
Tornadoes were also reported in Plymouth County, IA, and near Hinton and Sloan, Iowa.
Out west, a major winter storm has shut down much of the state west of the Missouri River.
Interstate 90 is still closed from Murdo to the Wyoming line, with no travel advised for much of the area. As much as forty three inches of snow has fallen in the Lead area.
