SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KWSN)– Augustana women's golf returns to the course next Monday at Tuesday competing at the Jackrabbit Invitational hosted by South Dakota State University at Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls.
This will serve as Augustana's final tune-up before the fall portion of the NSIC Championships on Oct. 5-6 in Brainerd, Minn. Augustana is coming off a second place finish at the Concordia Invitational last weekend. The Vikings shot a 55-over-par 631 (319-312) in the 36-hole tournament at Tartan Park Golf Course in Lake Elmo, Minn. Augustana finished behind Central Oklahoma, who fired a 608 (301-307) to take home the title, and ahead of 10 other NSIC schools who competed in the invite.
Marisa Toivonen was Augustana's highest finisher at the Concordia Invite shooting a tournament-low 71 in the second round, 13 strokes better than her first round score, to finish third overall. Toivonen was awarded NSIC Women's Golfer of the Week honors for her performance at the Concordia Invite. Toivonen has two top-five finishes this season, including fourth place at Augustana's Invite on Sept. 7-8, and her third place finish at the Concordia Invite. Maggie

Last season, Augustana took third place amongst six NCAA Division I teams. Allie Ostrander fired a three-round score of 231 (68-79-84), which included the tournament-low round of 68 on the first day of competition.
