Gregg Allman Plots New Solo Tour, May Begin Recording New Album Soon

The Allman Brothers Band may have wrapped up its 2013 tour itinerary, but frontman Gregg Allman will remain busy with solo dates plotted out all the way into the New Year.  The 65-year-old singer has more than 20 U.S. shows scheduled, stretching from an October 11 concert in Montgomery, Alabama, through a January 8 performance in Sarasota, Florida.

Allman's tour will mostly visit cities on the East Coast and in the Midwest, and will include stops in Milwaukee; Detroit; Atlantic City, New Jersey; Macon, Georgia; Chartotte, North Carolina; and Jacksonville, Florida.

Meanwhile, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer revealed in a recent interview that he's planning to soon start recording a follow-up to his acclaimed 2011 solo album, Low Country Blues .  Allman told AmericanBluesScene.com that, after postponing a session this past May with producer T Bone Burnett , he thinks he may head to the studio in November.
