Meat Loaf kicks off his brand-new Las Vegas residency tonight at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.  The singer stars in the first installment of a new multimedia performance series called RockTellz & CockTails that will combine live music, archival film footage and a segment that will give the audience a chance to ask Meat Loaf questions about his life and career.

Speaking recently with ABC News Radio, the multitalented performer explained that fans who attend the show will be be treated to much more than just a traditional concert.

"The first eleven minutes you think it's a rock show and then we turn it on you, and it's no longer a rock show," he declares.  "You have to see it to believe it."

The Las Vegas Sun 's "Vegas Deluxe" column recently revealed that among the highlights of Meat Loaf's RockTellz & CockTails will be a performance of his epic Bat out of Hell story-song "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" that will be accompanied by a video that was filmed especially for the event.

Meat Loaf, who has battled a number of health issues in recent years, says one of the big benefits of the Vegas residency is that he gets to stay in one place for an extended period of time.

"It's a lot better than getting on an airplane," maintains the singer, who turns 66 on Friday.  "I've been doing this for 47 years and I'm sick of traveling."

Meat Loaf's RockTellz & CockTails stint currently is scheduled to run through November 5, but he's planning to return to Vegas for an additional engagement.

"Hopefully, we'll be back here in January," he tells ABC News Radio.
