SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The City of Sioux Falls launched an educational platform for Fair Housing Awareness today.
Director of Community Development, Darrin Smith, says the program is aimed at those most at risk for housing discrimination. Smith says the City is providing an ombudsman who will educate and mediate tenant-landlord disputes.
The Regional Administrator for Housing and Urban Development was in Sioux Falls today to unveil the new Fair Housing program. Rick Garcia says with the campaign Sioux Falls is taking a long term approach to fair housing.
The City's Fair Housing Consultant, Paul Flogstad, will offer educational sessions whenever and wherever he's asked. And he'll tailor his talks to the group; for instance veterans, the disabled, American Indians or Hispanics.
Flogstad can be reached at 978-6564 or online at firstname.lastname@example.org.
