The next installment of David Bowie 's 40th anniversary singles campaign -- a seven-inch vinyl picture disc featuring two versions of the influential rocker's classic 1974 song "Diamond Dogs" -- will arrive on June 17 . The limited-edition single will include the original version of the track on side A and a 2005 remix of the in-concert rendition of the tune that appeared on Bowie's 1974 album David Live on side AA.
Live version of "Diamond Dogs," which was remixed by longtime Bowie collaborator Tony Visconti , has never been released on vinyl before.
The photo that appears on the A side of the single -- a black-and-white image of Bowie with a barking dog -- is an outtake from a famous 1974 photo shoot by shutterbug Terry O'Neill . The pic on the AA side is a previously unreleased photo taken during David's '74 tour of the United States.
The "Diamond Dogs" picture disc follows the release of another similarly collectible vinyl single, "1984," which came out this past Saturday in conjunction with the latest U.S. edition of the Record Store Day campaign.
