SIOUX FALLS, S.D (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls tourism season officially kicks off this weekend with the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Softball Tournament and the Howard Wood Dakota Relays.
Convention and Visitor's Bureau Executive Director Teri Schmidt says from now on its week-after-week of activities.
The softball tournament opens Thursday at Sherman Park with the championship game on Saturday. Schmidt says the first 100 kids at the championship game will receive a free softball that can be autographed by the players after the game.
The 89th annual Howard Wood Dakota Relays opens Friday morning at 11 with field events.
Schmidt says college softball players, track ad filed athletes, coaches, fans and families will be in town this weekend. Many will sleep in motels, eat in restaurants and shop during breaks.
