Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) South Dakota Independent Gubenatorial Candidate Mike Myers on Monday filed suit to try to get his new running mate on the ballot.
Myers chose former Republican Lora Hubell to replace Caitlen Collier when she resigned from the ticket for health reasons. Secretary of State Jason Gant says he can't put Hubbell on the ballot for Lt. Governor without a specific law allowing the substitution.
Myers says it's unconstitutional to allow Republicans and Democrats to make such switches up until August 11th, but not Independent candidates. He wants to "level the playing field" and says he is fairly optimistic that the Federal Judge will see it his way.
