An impressive lineup of music stars will gather at Atlanta's Fox Theatre on November 12 to take part in a concert paying tribute to arguably the most influential and famous Southern rock band, Lynyrd Skynyrd . The event, dubbed One More for the Fans! -- Celebrating the Songs & Music of Lynyrd Skynyrd, will feature performances by Skynyrd themselves, Gregg Allman , Cheap Trick , Peter Frampton , Charlie Daniels , Allman Brothers Band guitarist Warren Haynes and his side group Gov't Mule , Staind 's Aaron Lewis , John Hiatt , Robert Randolph and country stars Alabama , Trace Adkins and Jamey Johnson .
Also on the bill is 38 Special 's Donnie Van Zant , the brother of late Lynyrd Skynyrd frontman Ronnie Van Zant and the group's current singer, Johnny Van Zant . Additional special guests will be announced soon. The concert will be recorded for future release on a variety of platforms.
Acclaimed producer Don Was will serve as music director for the show, and will lead an all-star house band at the event.
"Lynyrd Skynyrd's music has had a profound and unmistakable influence on artists and fans all over the world," Was says in a statement. Keith Wortman , the creator and executive producer of the concert, adds, "This incredible initial lineup of artists coming together to celebrate this band and their music is a genuine reflection of that."
Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Fox Theatre share a historic connection. The band recorded its classic 1976 live album One More from the Road at the venue as part of an initiative to save the theater from being demolished.
