Blondie has signed on to take part in one of the many musical events being held in New York City in the coming weeks in honor of Super Bowl LVIII, which is scheduled for February 2 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The influential New Wave band will give a free performance on February 1 at the Super Bowl Boulevard Concert Stage, located in downtown Manhattan at Broadway & 40th Street. Blondie will deliver a 90-minute set starting at 8:30 p.m. ET that evening. The show will be the finale of a four-day celebration preceding the big game that will see a 13-block section of the Big Apple temporarily transformed into Super Bowl Boulevard , an area offering musical performances, food vendors and variety of football-themed giveaways, games, activities and attractions.
Next up for Blondie after their Super Bowl Boulevard performance will be the group's recently announced appearance at the South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas. The band will perform and take part in an interview during the fest, which runs from March 11 through March 16. Blondie also is planning to release a new studio album in the spring.
