With multiple Grammy Awards to his credit, the late Luther Vandross will receive a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame today.
According to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, the legendary singer, who passed away in 2005 at the age of 51 due to a heart attack, will be honored outside the Capitol Records building in Los Angeles on Tuesday, June 3.
Vandross' star will be presented to his niece, Seveda Williams , and friend Alfonso "Fonzi" Thornton .
"Luther's unparalleled voice and forever romantic tunes such as 'Never Too Much,' 'Power of Love,' 'Here and Now,' 'House Is Not a Home,' 'So Amazing' and 'Dance with My Father' are known the world over," says Leron Gubler , president of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and emcee of the ceremonies. "We are honored to hold this dedication for a very special performer whose music will resonate for all time."
Fans will be able to view a live stream of the ceremony at WalkofFame.com at 11:30 a.m. PT.
