Undated, (KELO-AM) The first statewide poll since the June 3 primary has Republican Mike Rounds keeping a very comfortable lead over Democrat Rick Weiland in the South Dakota U-S Senate race.
The Rasmussen Poll shows Rounds with 44% and Weiland with 29% support. Former Republican U-S Senator Larry Pressler, now running as an independent garnered 18% support. Pressler is trying to get the seat back that he once held.
The race to replace the retiring Tim Johnson (D) has drawn national interest as the Republican Party tries to take over control of the U-S Senate in the November mid-term elections.
