SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Democratic candidate for Governor, Susan Wismer, says it’s unhealthy to have one party completely in control in Pierre.
Wismer says it means discussions in the capitol aren’t honest and open. She says for Democrats to be successful this fall they must have a good, moderate message that appeals to a broad section of South Dakotans.
Wismer says it’s also important that Democrats have high voter turnout.
South Dakota Democrats meet this weekend in Yankton where Wismer’s pick for Lieutenant Governor, Suzy Blake of Sioux Falls, will be nominated for the ticket.
Wismer and Blake face incumbent Republican Governor Dennis Daugaard and Independent candidate Mike Myers in November.
