Former Eagles guitarist Don Felder has a special treat for fans as he gears up for his support slot on the upcoming Soundtrack of Summer tour with Styx and Foreigner .  The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will be releasing an expanded version of his latest solo album, Road to Forever , that will hit stores on March 25.

Road to Forever: Extended Edition will contain the 12 songs included on the original October 2012 release, as well as four bonus tracks -- "Can't Stop Now," "Southern Bound," "She Runs Free" and "Sensuality."  The album features guest appearances by a variety of Felder's famous musician friends, including Styx's Tommy Shaw , David Crosby , Graham Nash , Stephen Stills and Toto members Steve Lukather , David Paich and Steve Porcaro .

Explaining how Road to Forever came together, Felder tells ABC News Radio, "When I really started out to write that CD, I wrote 27 song ideas.  I culled it down to what I thought were the best 16 songs to put on a record and then [my label] wanted to have bonus tracks.  So I said, 'Well, let's just put 12 songs on the CD and will take the other four tracks and will use them for promotional things.'"  The guitar whiz points out that the extra tunes initially were used as bonuses "for Amazon or iTunes" and overseas versions of the album, before being compiled together for the Extended Edition .

Road to Forever: Extended Edition   can be pre-ordered now at Felder's official online store .  A new single from the album, "You Don't Have Me" will be released sometime in April.

The Soundtrack of Summer Tour, meanwhile, is scheduled to kick off on May 15 in Wichita, Kansas, and is plotted out through a July 27 concert in Santa Barbara, California. Felder says the trek will be the largest-scale outing he's participated in since his days with the Eagles.  He admits that in recent years, he's attempted to balance the amount of time he spends on the road with time spent focusing on his personal life.

"When this [tour] came up, it looked like it was maybe more work than I wanted to do, but it also looked like a lot of fun to do it," he explains to ABC News Radio.  "So, I had to make a decision inside myself that this was something I was willing to sacrifice, the time on the road for my personal life…and I just said, 'Absolutely, by all means.  Love to do it.'"

Commenting about what the trek will offer music fans, Felder says, "It's going to be a lot of great music between the three bands.  We have just a huge catalog of hits, a lot of great guitar players…myself, [Foreigner's] Mick [ Jones ] and Tommy…great vocalists that are in the [bands] and an amazing amount of songs.  So, I think it's going to be a really rocking tour."
