BURNSVILLE, Minn. (KWSN) -- Minnesota State earned the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) / U.S. Bank All-Sports Award for the second year in a row. The Mavericks amassed 173.5 points, 14 points ahead of second place Augustana College. This marks the fourth time that Minnesota State has earned the all-sports award (2008-09, 2009-10 & 2012-13) as it joins Augustana, Winona State and Minnesota Duluth as the only other schools to win the award in its 15-year history. The Mavericks will be presented their award on Wednesday, July 9 at the NSIC Hall of Fame Banquet in St. Cloud, Minn.Minnesota State won seven regular season titles during the 2013-14 season, including football, women's soccer, men's basketball, men's indoor track & field, baseball, softball and men's outdoor track & field.

Augustana had another solid year as well, scoring 159.5 points to finish second after winning three regular season titles. The Vikings took home the women's golf, men's cross country and women's tennis titles this past year.St. Cloud State finished in third place with 132 points after winning the wrestling and men's golf championships, while Winona State was fourth with 130.5 points. Minnesota Duluth was fifth with 122.5 points thanks in part to championships in women's cross country and women's indoor track & field.  The winner of each title in a conference-sponsored championship receives points totaling the number of teams in that sport plus one. The next place finisher receives points totaling the number of teams less the number of places from first place. Ties in the standings at any level result in the totaling of points and distributed equally.  Indoor and outdoor track & field are computed at half the total points as listed in the previous mentioned categories.
