SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — On Saturday, February 20, the first annual Barks and Brews held the largest Indoor Dog Park in Sioux Falls. From the moment the doors opened at 2 pm, the line never stopped.
The shelves at the Sioux Falls Humane Society will be stocked for the coming months, as the event raised over $10,000 in donations and food.
“Barks and Brews #1 was an amazing success!” said The Animals and Staff at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society. “We would like to thank the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center for their hard work and dedication to the animals in our community, the volunteers and staff who helped with the event, and we look forward to a continued partnership. We cannot wait until next time! Thank you so much!! ”
“We were thrilled to provide a warm space for pets and their owners to come out and socialize in a responsible manner. In addition, the amount of donations was more than we anticipated. It feels good to be part of a community that gets out and shares, especially during these challenging times,” said Mike Krewson, General Manager of Denny SanfordPREMIER CENTER. “We are looking forward to our next rendition of Barks and Brews.”
The event was created by the staff at Denny Sanford PREMIER Center and part of the Sioux Falls Alive initiative. The event was free to the public and with a single donation, dog lovers were given a free drink ticket.
