SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Here are some of the highlights from Thursday’s Sioux Falls Police briefing.
ASSAILANT SAYS THE GUN WASN’T LOADED
A 21-year-old Sioux Falls man is arrested for aggravated assault after he pointed a gun at another man.
The suspect drove into the parking lot at the victim’s apartment in the 600 block of West Bennett Street.
The victim and the suspect know each other and had a bad history, according to the police.
Sioux Falls police located the man and the gun at his apartment after the incident.
The suspect told the police the gun was not loaded.
Police were able to confirm the gun had not been fired.
KIDS UNDER 13 CAN BE HARD TO FIND
A 13-year-old girl who ran away from home is safe after returning home late Wednesday.
Officer Sam Clemens says the Sioux Falls Police released information about the girl to the public because juveniles under the age of 13 are considered to be at greater risk when they leave home on their own.
Clemens says younger juveniles are less likely to think about their safety or have a plan when they run away.
