SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO.com) — Street construction update:
33rd Street and Minnesota Avenue
Intersection Reconstruction
Beginning on Monday, May 3, 2021, work will begin for the reconstruction of the intersection of 33rd Street and Minnesota Avenue. Work will include underground utility improvements and traffic signal improvements, and sidewalk ramps at the intersection will be updated for ADA compliance.
In Phase 1 of the intersection improvements, Minnesota Avenue traffic will shift to the existing west lanes to allow for reconstruction of the east leg of the intersection. The west leg of the intersection will remain open. No left turn will be allowed for 33rd Street eastbound to northbound traffic. 33rd Street will be closed east of Minnesota Avenue and traffic will be detoured along Phillips Avenue, 26th Street and Grange Avenue.
At various locations along Minnesota Avenue between 22nd Street and 33rd Street, the west leg of the intersections will be reconstructed for ADA compliance. Local traffic control will be in place.
The work is anticipated to be completed by mid-October 2021.

49th Street, Arway Drive to Carnegie Circle Construction Project
Beginning on Monday, May 3, 2021, work will begin at the intersection of 49th Street and Oxbow Avenue for the 49th Street, Arway Drive to Carnegie Circle roadway and utility reconstruction project.
The intersection of 49th Street and Oxbow Avenue will be closed for ten working days to perform underground utility work. Local traffic will be routed around the intersection along Arway Drive and 51st Street.
The overall project on 49th Street is anticipated to be completed by mid-August 2021.

Lane Closures – North Marion Road
Beginning on Monday, May 3, 2021 the outside northbound lane will be closed on North Marion Road between 260th Street and West Foundation Court. Construction crews will be performing roadway improvements, accessible curb ramps, and install traffic signals.
During construction, North Marion Road will have lane closures but will remain open with traffic reduced to one lane in each direction.
This work is expected to be completed by November 2021, weather-dependent.

Street Closure – St Paul Avenue from
Walnut Street to Mulberry Street
Beginning on Monday, May 3, 2021, St Paul Avenue will be closed between Walnut Street and Mulberry Street for sanitary sewer upgrades. The Intersection of St Paul Avenue and Mulberry Street will be closed, but access will be maintained for Mulberry Street East of St Paul Avenue.
Weather permitting, the project is anticipated to be complete by the end of May 2021.

Street Closures –
37th Street and Norton Avenue
Beginning on Monday, May 3, 2021, West 37th Street between South Summit Avenue to South Duluth Avenue will be closed to thru traffic and South Norton Avenue will be closed at West 37th Street to allow crews to perform concrete repairs.
Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed within one week.

Street Closure – West Indian Mound Drive
Beginning on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 8:30 a.m., West Indian Mound Drive will be closed at the intersection of South Kiwanis Avenue for road repairs.
West Indian Mound Drive will remain accessible via detour to 22nd Street. Detour signage will be provided to guide traffic.
The intersection is anticipated to reopen by the end of the day Wednesday, May 5, 2021.

Lane Closures – West 41st Street
Beginning on Tuesday morning, May 4, 2021, the outside westbound lane on West 41st Street, just west of Carolyn Avenue, will be closed. The outside westbound lane on West 41st Street, just east of Meadow Avenue, will also be closed.
Telcom Construction will be working in the area and work is expected to be completed by 4 p.m.
