SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO.com) – Falls Community Health is hosting a free wellness clinic on September 21, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Mary Michaels with the Sioux Falls Health Department says the event is a great way for people to have a full health screening including lab work like cholesterol, and blood sugar checked.
Michaels says through the pandemic people were putting off going to the doctor, they were just staying away from clinics and hospitals. This event is a way to bring people back to the clinic to have their health evaluated.
Michaels says 6 out of 10 adults have at least one chronic illness and 4 out of 10 have 2 chronic illnesses.
At the wellness clinic you will have a complete health screening, labs checked, blood pressure checked, speak with a doctor, have a quick vision screening and an oral health screening from the dental team. The clinic will also have social workers available if you need to have your emotional health evaluated.
Other resources will also be available such as the Helpline Center, childcare resources, transportation, housing and much more.
You will also have the chance to win some door prizes.
This is a free event and you do not need an appointment but it is recommended to avoid long wait times. Falls Community Health is located at 521. N Main Ave in Sioux Falls.
