SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (kelo.com) – Over the weekend, Sioux Falls police apprehended a thief who had been stalking unlocked vehicles at churches.
He would then use the registration to identify his victim’s home addresses and proceed to rob their homes. He can be connected to at least two recent home burglaries and may be connected to more. The example is a touch extreme but is a symptom of the disease. Too many vehicles are left unlocked when unattended in Sioux Falls.
It seems we’ve been hearing stories about the thefts and listening to the pleas from our local police for months. In some cases, firearms have been taken from easily accessible cars. Weapons like that are consistently used to commit crimes. Certainly, the problem appears to be endemic. That means unlocked vehicles are a condition regularly found among particular people or in a certain area.
Is the problem larger than Sioux Falls though?
