SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — If you’re headed to the Great Plains Zoo you may get the chance to welcome a new addition to the neighborhood. A male Pallas kitten born in July is beginning to venture out into the open under the watchful eye of his mother. Male Pallas Cats aren’t involved in the raising of their offspring, so dad has been moved to a behind-the-scenes habitat. Zoo marketing director Denise DePaolo says visitors will be catching glimpses of mom and son over the next few weeks.
The new kitten has an older brother named Pazi, born to the same parents in 2020. Pazi is now in Michigan’s Potter Park Zoo.
