SANTIAGO (Reuters) – Chile rejected an environmental permit for Andes Iron’s controversial $2.5 billion Dominga iron and copper mining project on Wednesday.
The decision by a government review committee reiterates its 2023 position after an environmental court in December deemed the initial rejection invalid and ordered the body to re-do its analysis.
The decade-long case can still be appealed.
