PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — A proposed bill introduced Friday in the State Legislature may affect South Dakotans on Medicaid.
The measure would remove the constitutional requirement for Medicaid expansion if federal funding drops below its current 90% share.
The state currently pays 10% of the costs.
opponents warn that it could threaten healthcare access for 30,000 South Dakotans who rely on the program.
The House State Affairs Committee approved the measure 11-2.
If passed by the full legislature, voters would have the final say at the ballot box
