(Reuters) – The United Nations will reduce its footprint in Gaza after five staff members of the organization’s Palestinian relief agency were killed in the fighting, but remains committed to providing aid to civilians, a spokesperson said in a statement on Monday.
“The Secretary-General has taken the difficult decision to reduce the Organization’s footprint in Gaza, even as humanitarian needs soar and our concern over the protection of civilians intensifies,” the statement said.
