WASHINGTON (Reuters) -U.S. President Donald Trumpโs administration plans to end American financial support for Gavi, an organization that helps buy vaccines for children in developing countries and scale back efforts to combat malaria, the New York Times reported on Wednesday.
The administration will continue to fund some grants that pay for drugs that treat H.I.V. and tuberculosis and provide food aid to nations where civil wars and natural disasters are occurring, the Times reported, citing a document from the United States Agency for International Development.
The Health and Human Services Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
