PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — All signs are pointing toward a lot of talk about property tax relief in South Dakota. The Legislature’s Executive Board made that the first item of business as it approved summer study topics late Monday. Governor Larry Rhoden also unveiled a plan to allow counties to add up to a half-percent sales tax to offset property taxes in each county.
A property tax relief task force will work on the proposal leading up to next year’s legislative session.
