BEIJING (Reuters) โ The head of Chinaโs energy regulator met with his Chilean counterpart in Beijing on Monday to discuss cooperation on renewable energy, electricity and energy storage, according to a statement by the regulator.
Wang Hongzhi, who was appointed head of the National Energy Administration in December, told Chileโs Diego Pardow that China is willing to support enterprises on both sides to strengthen bilateral energy cooperation, an NEA statement said on Tuesday.
Chile hopes to learn from Chinaโs experience with clean energy and energy security to improve its relevant policies and attract more Chinese investment, NEA quoted Pardow as saying.
Chile, a top supplier of copper and lithium, both important for the energy transition, suffered a major power outage in February caused by a transmission line failure, and also experienced extended power outages last year.
