MEXICO CITY (Reuters) โ Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Thursday that dialogue and cooperation remain ongoing with the United States, after U.S. President Donald Trump unveiled sweeping new tariffs that did not include Mexico.
She added during a press conference that Mexico being excluded from the general tariffs that Trump announced on Wednesday is good for Mexico.
Mexicoโs economy minister Marcelo Ebrard called it a โgreat achievementโ that Mexico got preferential tariff treatment for goods related to the USMCA treaty, also speaking during the presidentโs daily morning press conference.
He added that Mexicoโs goal in the next 40 days is to achieve the best trade conditions possible.
