SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Seventh Annual Sioux Falls Firefighters Association memorial stair climb took place at the Sioux Falls Arena today.
Keynote Speaker Retired Army Master Sgt. Cedric King spoke this morning. He survived a blast from an improvised explosive device in 2012 and ran the Boston Marathon on prosthetic blades 21 months later.
Firefighters, law enforcement, military, and the community climbed 110 flights of stairs to remember those who lost their lives in the World Trade Center Buildings on September 11th, 2001.
The Step Up for Heroes Challenge Course and Junior Firefighter Obstacle Course continue this afternoon.
