SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Christmas trees are the latest item said to be in short supply this year.
Colleen Johns, of Christmas Tree Acres near Harrisburg, told KELO.com news they ordered trees early to ensure inventory for the holiday season. They even ordered more than what they had on hand last year as they sold out quickly.
Supply and demand, as well as the drought of 2012 are factors in shortage.
Johns’ advice to those wanting a real tree in their home for Christmas is to buy early. You can always leave the tree sit outside until you’re ready to decorate.
Christmas Tree Acres opened for the season yesterday and are stocked up on fresh trees, wreaths, and greens. They also have a craft and gift shop.
